Al/Cu Alloy Welding Table
Our Forster Welding Tables include tops made from carbon steel and aluminum alloy. Both of these T-slot top welding tables have the same design and performance features, however depending on your needs you may want to use our aluminum-copper alloy surface table if you are welding stainless steel.
Why use an aluminium-copper alloy as welding table surface?
- A Clamping system without contact to any ferritic material
- Welding tables with rails made of an Al/Cu alloy offer the safest basis for a professional stainless steel processing.
A necessary requirement for quality stainless steel processing is, apart from the physical separation between steel and stainless steel, the right non-ferritic 3D welding table to process them. The correct processing of stainless steels requires a strict separation from any ferritic material, since even the slightest adhesion or scratch on the welding table surface can cause more corrosion (eg pitting corrosion).
- Al/Cu alloy to avoid any damages to projects
Vulnerabilities within the processing can only be adjusted through a complete “immersion pickling”. T-Slots made of a special Aluminum/Copper alloy have proven to be beneficial because they cannot cause any ferritic scratch. And also due to their high tensile strength, with a low surface hardness, they also provide 3D clamping and positioning.
- Table design – Open your table surface to new ideas
Partially covered welding tables and surfaces may be not so common, but they offer advantages in many areas letting large parts “stick through” the surface or allowing an easier access to critical welding areas.
- Durability through low welding spatter adhesion
The high thermal conductivity prevents almost completely spatters from getting attached to our welding tables.
- Welding tables almost unlimited working life
The modular interchangeable rails enable permanent accuracy on the table surface and therefore durable high-quality parts as a result.
- Completely continuous positioning in the grid-free T-Slot
The T-Slot most exclusive advantage appears when it is necessary to weld casings and containers. In this case, the completely free positioning through the T-Slot makes the working process easier, consequently leading to important time savings. Only with a welding table based on T-Slots you will be able to reach every angle by using less clamping elements than with other grid-related systems.
The clamping plungers are wisely made of bronze. Extension with additional clamping elements and accessories or copper rails to reinforce the structure (as slot liner) are always available.
The T-Slot position is protected from any welding spatter.
