Trade and Craft enterprises can receive this grant if they can show exemplary or outstanding achievements of the following categories:

  • Exemplary solutions in the field of environmental protection
  • Outstanding cooperative services of craft enterprises to strengthen their common competitive position

The Bavarian State Prize is awarded at the International Industry and Craft Fair Munich (IHM) for special design and technical achievements in the craft sector which are far above the average. The Bavarian State Prize has been awarded since 1952 by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and is endowed with 5,000 euros.

The Federal Prize, also awarded at the International Industry and Craft Fair Munich (IHM) honors outstanding innovative achievements for the craft trades. This prize, too, is endowed with 5,000 euros and has been awarded since 1989 by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

This honors products and service innovations that are characterized by their applicability in the trade. The award contributes to increasing innovation and technology transfer in craft enterprises and promotes the performance and competitiveness of craft trades.
